A social fundraiser to get people raising money and moving at the start of the year
Move for Mind is a landmark event in the mental health calendar. Since 2020, over 14,000 participants have joined the movement, powering the fight for better support with every step, walk, or dance move. The ideas is to get moving for 31 minutes everyday in January. It was Mind’s first social fundraiser of the year, so we had to make sure it started off with a bang. For this project, my main contribution was brand-new photography for Mind, in addition to work on a wide range of assets.
In these photos, I really wanted to capture the fun and enjoyment fundraisers could get out of this challenge. I also wanted it to feel inclusive for everyone. A lot of people view these social fundraising challenges as simply a running or walking challenge.
But I wanted to show that you could do other sports, such as tennis, as a part of your 31 minutes of movement. I also wanted to show the fundraiser that this challenge could be integrated into your everyday life; for example, instead of sitting down for a coffee with a friend, going out and walking whilst having that much-needed catch-up. In the end, Move for Mind was able to raise a very substantial amount of money to go towards the charity and its cause.
