Agency Experience
4 years of agency experience
I joined Bluestep Solutions after completing my Graphic Communications degree with a 2:1 at the University Of Northampton.
Junior Designer Bluestep Solutions
(2022-2023)
After completing my degree I chose to work at Bluestep Solutions as they had a proven track record of diverse clients and great training opportunities. As a junior designer, I had to make sure I got to grips with how a studio works as quickly as I could. I felt comfortable asking questions and getting to know how the design industry really works. I learnt a lot in a short amount of time, which helped earn me bigger projects early in my career.
I worked on a huge range of deliverables, going from designing bespoke medals, to printed leaflets to even digital marketing. Being the only person in the studio with knowledge of motion software, I was also tasked with being the primary animator at Bluestep. With these expanded skills, I was able to earn myself a promotion to Creative Designer within a year.

Creative Designer Bluestep Solutions
(2023-2026)
After being promoted, my work rate ramped up. I was being relied on to be more independent and proactive with my work. I thrive both independently and when working with others, so this was no issue for me. I took part in an online animation course, which helped me hone my motion design skills. This led me to create videos for clients such as the Open University and Derbyshire County Council.
I also created a large number of social fundraising campaign identities. This would include a logo, visual identity, social advertisements, videos, and literature such as welcome letters and trackers. These would be for a range of charity clients, with Mind UK and the RSPCA to name a couple.
Being the primary motion designer at Bluestep, I was also tasked with photography and videography. At the time, I had no prior knowledge of how to work a camera except for the one on my phone, which was strictly for taking 0.5 lens photos of my friends and dog. I learnt on the job how to use a Canon EOS R7 and photography/videography in general. This included teaching myself lighting, the use of microphones, colour correction, and much more. This led to me doing more filming and photography-based jobs for clients such as Derbyshire County Council and many of our charity clients, saving Bluestep from having to outsource any of this work to a freelancer.
